The Rat Pak |
Since its beginning, hip-hop has expanded and evolved to include people from all walks of life. In the beginning it started with the disadvantaged youth of the inner city and has grown to include the very wealthy. Now hip-hop's latest development has brought us a group for the everyday person, the R.A.T. P.A.K. Three members K U, Jo Jo, and Big B form the R.A.T. P.A.K. Each brings a distinctive personality and style to the group. K U, with his introspective yet confident style, brings a sense of maturity and bravado. His lyrics are based upon life experiences and insight beyond his years. Jo Jo has the ability to explode onto the track with blinding energy and at the same time not lose his listeners. His blue-collar style keeps his listener within arms reach and brings credibility. Big B with his caustic voice is the cleaner. He is the enforcer on the track. He still has the uncanny ability to bring humor to a song and yet not be taken for a joke. The mixture of these three styles has created a sound that embodies the very essence of hip-hop. DRange |
DRange (Cornell Navarre), born August 25th, 1974, was destined to entertain.Having been born in Compton, California and raised in Los Angeles and Orange County, California, graced Cornell with a depth of perception of both sides of the tracks. This gave him a mainstream attraction as well as one foot firmly planted in urban hip-hop culture. Of course, he did the popping and breaking thing, and the house dancing crews were a regular gig. So it was a natural move when he eventually formed a rap crew with his two cousins in 1988. The better part of the 90's was devoted to honing his lyrical and performance skills with countless shows and auditions, appearing in such places as the L.A. Sports Arena, Billboard Live, The Roxy, Martini Lounge, Sky Sushi and an independent album in 2000. DRange is also diverse in his talent, enjoying achievements in film, theater and fashion modeling. He is musically and professionally poised to share his personal energy and talent with the universe. Phat Duck Records proudly represents this gifted and dynamic artist. |
